Advertisements

I hate graphic banner ads. I also block them all of with AdBlock.
My friends think this is odd however. Whenever I see I string on text ads, which are mainly Google Ads, I click them all. The web needs ‘em to stay alive you know!

  1. The web needs ‘em to stay alive you know!

I’m not so sure you should do that. If advertisers see that their revenue goes down (or stays the same) as their traffic from their Adsense ads (Google Ads as you called them) goes up, then they will not pay Google as much for the ads and Google will not pay as much to the people who put them on their websites. So by clicking the links you give the websites a little money now but may be harming their chances to get money in the future if what you are doing is done in mass.

  2. I click on anyone that I think I may want to buy from or looks interesting. I don’t click on pop up or annoying flashing banner ads.
